Right. There we are then.

That's the last Infinites/Infinities strip.

It's a rather full circle moment and, by deliberate design, is almost a carbon copy of the original strip. Jim has posted that original strip underneath my ramblings, just in case you've forgotten.

What was originally a rather pointed joke regarding 'The Infinity Doctors' has ended up given me the perfect way to say goodbye to these chaps.

Of course the Infinites started life on this site as part of a spin off strip that came about from many late night conversations with Jesse Lax about the nature of various alternate Doctors. Jesse wasn't able to commit to an ongoing run, though that didn't deter him from continuing to send us guest strips, and as such we started the hunt for an artist to replace him.

We found Ness. Or rather he found us.

I struggle to put just how I feel about Ness into words. He's taken my words and breathed life and joy into them on a regular basis. He brought that same life and joy into our friendship. Our creative collaboration may have come to an end, but our friendship will continue on and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Ness contributed table art for my wedding reception and I, for my part, made him a fan of Blackadder.

If I have one regret about our run it was in never making him come up with a Rik Mayall Doctor design.

It's been a blast Ness.

The Strip above was the first trial strip. We held a competition to whoever wanted to draw ‘The Infinites’ and join the team. We found that Nesshead ticked all the boxes with his unique and hilarious versions of the alternate Doctors.

15 and a half years later we realise we made the absolute right choice, because Ness is still here entertaining all of us ❤️.
