I personally thought that it was fairly obvious she was a past version based on what little we were told. So I was somewhat taken aback to learn that Chibnall himself didn't seem to know himself.
Which, quite frankly, is taking secrecy on the set to a whole new level.
For a brief moment I was ready to believe that Chibnall had a plan, and honestly, I was there for a previous and forgotten incarnation. Strong hints of The Other.
Alas I think we all know what's coming next...
