IN PRINT - 1966 Part 2

I really wish I'd written this one. I love the idea of the 1st Doctor's garden from the Five Doctors being the start of the In Print verse. I think it was Paul Cornell that first put the idea forward in Timewyrm, I'll need to check.

Either way, it's a nice idea and Jim pulls it off nicely.

Next week 2ndfade is back. See you all then.

IN PRINT - 1966

Previous Strip Next In Print '66 Strip

Isn't technology grand. This is my third attempt at this blog today. Thankfully I didn't delete the strip

after all. I really need to fix my PC. Doing this and the scripts from my phone is getting really, really old.

Today comes from Jim. Back to my scripts as of next week all going well. Though I'm going to miss knowing what's coming. Today's strip made me grin.

IN PRINT - 99

Yes as it happens I had watched 'The Zeppo' shortly before I wrote this strip, but you have to admit that Jim makes this work. One more week and we hit 100, I'm still processing that one.

So, Zygons huh? I seriously enjoyed that. Got quite a kick out of seeing one of the Osgoods in 'Curse of Fenric' get up, such a nice touch.

And we get to add Basil to the list of possible names for the Doctor. Well that and Doctor John Disco who I'm fairly sure is a relation of DJ Foo. What ever happened to that guy?

We'll be back next week with our 100th In Print strip which features a couple of guest stars that I'm quite looking forward to seeing. Should be a blast.

IN PRINT -The Snowman

This is my daughter's fault.

She loves 'Frozen' and I've seen it far too many times to count now. So when I was trying to come up with things for Mike Key to draw it was only really a matter of time before 'Frozen' popped up.

I love the idea of these two Doctors building Snowmen in the TARDIS to Disney music, which fits in pretty well with the Shalka Doctor's love of show tunes. For all of you that have 'Do you want to build a snowman' stuck in your head for the rest of the day now, I can only apologise.

We have a couple of more strips coming in Mike's style of mashing Doctor Who with other programs and then we return to the regular strip with Jim.

Nesshead will be returning soon, but his laptop is still giving him issues and is slowing him down. If you want to see Nesshead back sooner then there's always 'Nesshead's Emergency Laptop Fund'

IN PRINT - Place holder

The final stage of Con Wars will be with us very soon.

In the mean time you can enjoy a place holder strip that Jesse came up with.

Back soon...

IN PRINT EPISODE 70

And........... cut!

That's 'Paradox Now' done. For now at any rate. There's still a few unanswered questions and that's not accidental. Feel free to speculate in the comments section.

The next few arcs drawn by Jim are considerably shorter, but will still help set the stage for the coming year. But first we return you to Nesshead and the 'Grand Tour'.

Which raises a point. We've started doing the arcs in blocks rather than swapping week about between Jim and Nesshead. What do you guys think? Do you prefer it this way or did you like alternating? Let us know!

That's all I have to say just now. My eldest daughter was up most of last night and I'm not nearly as awake as I would like to be.

Hope you guys enjoyed the arc and we'll see you next week.

Don't forget that we have Twitter and Facebook pages and that you can support us by visiting our store and buying something.

IN PRINT - THE I FILES Part 5

First Previous Next Latest

And with that the Hurt Doctor joins the cast.

Of course this presents a few issues for the strip continuity, the most obvious being the accidental regeneration during 'The Great Costume Debacle', but rest assured I have a way round it and it'll be addressed later this year.

As for why we had Mr Hines dressed up as the 2nd Doctor? Well quite frankly the man has form as you can see from the picture. Actually that's probably the coolest bit of cosplay I have ever seen. As it happens Jamie is still my favourite companion, even after all these years. The fact that he's Scottish helps, but a big part of it is the easy chemistry he shared with Patrick Troughton. The two of them were an absolute joy to watch on screen.

Next week we have a Guest Print from Paul Salvi and then we'll be returning to the regular arcs. 2014 is all planned and the final tweaks are being made to the scripts. It's going to be a fun year.

IN PRINT - THE I FILES Part 3

They're not here for Jack? I don't think anyone expected that, including Jack it would seem. I mean surely he's wanted by several law enforcement agencies? And now that I come to think of it what's he doing in this TARDIS anyway?

Oh that Jack.

So just who are they after? You have a couple more weeks before you find out and I think the answer may surprise you. Please feel free to discuss your theories in the comments section.

We're back next week with the penultimate episode (is that right? I'll need to double check) and after that we a have another Guest Print from Paul Salvi and then it's back to the regular stuff. I'm starting to make headway with the material for this year. The 50th Specials have given me some different ideas to implement and it's all starting to come together nicely.

Right I'm off to cough up a lung in the corner. I'll see you all next week.

IN PRINT EPISODE 42

I just couldn't resist some kind of reference to Douglas Adams for strip 42, if you don't get why you then you need to read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Seriously.

It also marks a nice point for Jim to sign off for a little while. Before anyone panics I'd like to assure everyone that, like James Bond, Jim will be back. Jim and Mrs Jim are expecting a little Jim in the next wee while and whilst he'll still be drawing the strip it didn't seem fair to expect him to meet deadlines as well as all the fatherly duties he's about to encounter.

And he has plenty to be drawing, scripts for the next 3 or 4 months have been written and sent out with the exception of 'The Propcupboard of Obscure Doom', which needs typed up and sent to 2nd Fade. Once that's done I just need to work a bit ahead on 'Dangling Threads' and 'The Wrong Doctor' and I'll be set for my own Paternity Leave

So, Jim's on Paternity Leave for a bit. He'll still be around on Twitter and suchlike though.

Which brings us onto the other bit of news we have for you today.

While we have some filler strips lined up to fill Jim's slot 'The Infinity Doctors' returns next week. The strip itself has regenerated into 'The Infinites' and are drawn by Nesshead now.

We've been working with Ness behind the scenes now for a while and can't wait to show you the strips he's been producing.

So, we'll see you all next week for Nesshead's first strip and in the meantime you can find us on Twitter or Facebook,
