IN PRINT EPISODE 46

                                                                      Previous Next

See this is what frustrates me about the companions since 2005; he travels throughout time and space, but only seems to collect girls from the early 21st century? In my opinion the most interesting companions in the last few years have been Jack and Rory. One's a Time Agent from the future and the other a recovered 2,000 year old Auton. To mind that's more in keeping with being a Time Lord's travelling companion. River has been interesting, but I'm not sure if I count her as a regular companion.

Given that the current companion has appeared in two other time periods before being revealed as being from the early 21st century I'm still holding out hopes that she might not be a walking cliché. We'll see I guess.

Hope you guys have been enjoying the Doctors watching the show again. Don't worry there's another arc coming, it might even cross over with The Infinites, we'll have to wait and see.

I got a text from Jim earlier this week all excited about pictures of John Hurt turning up on the internet. At first I thought he was just excited to see him appear, but he had a few observations about his outfit that tie into the strip. Mostly because it resembles the gentlemen to the right's outfit. Feel free to discuss his identity in the comments section.

We'll neither confirm nor deny....

IN PRINT EPISODE 44

It's true you know; the Doctor did actually have a Cyberman as a companion. It was during the eighth Doctor's run in the DWM Comic and these days you can find him in Doctor Who - The Glorious Dead (Complete Eighth Doctor Comic Strips Vol. 2): Glorious Dead v. 2. And if you care to buy the collection through that rather blatant plug then you are in fact supporting In Print on a financial level.

So, yeah, I've expanded the cast again. Maybe one day we'll have a behind the scenes strip featuring Kroton and Mrs T. Probably not though.

Not much else to tell you this week, we'll have more news as Jim and myself adapt to remastering fatherhood. What we can say is that plans are in full flow for November, we have something special planned.

Our Twitter or Facebook accounts remain open if you have any questions throughout the week.

See you all in seven days or there abouts.

IN PRINT EPISODE 43

And back to normal. Such as that is.

Today marks the end of Paternity leave for both myself and Jim, which is why you've just read strip 43.

Today also sees a return to the original format with our protagonists watching a recent episode of New Who and commenting on it. For those of you who might miss the more arc based strips; worry not for we'll be back to them in the fairly near future and if you can't wait there is always The Infinites.

But this isn't the only way we're going back to our roots, oh no. The arc after next will feature a character only ever seen in the books, although variations of him have appeared in the Classic and New Series. Without giving too much away; there isn't much original art out there featuring this character so Jim and Nesshead have been working on a slightly redesigned version. And while the boys are working on an In Print rebrand for him I've been writing his story, which'll take us all the way up to November.

We have a little something planned for you in November and as such we won't be doing a Christmas Special this year, but I think you'll find this a fair swap.

Oh and Jim's been redecorating. It works well with our book roots doesn't it? We;d love to hear your comments on it.

Anyway I best be going, neither myself or Jim are overly awake just now and sleep beckons.....

You can check out our Twitter or Facebook feeds if you miss us before we wake up.

THE PROP CUPBOARD OF OBSCURE DOOM... 2

                                                                  Previous Next

Here we go; it's the second Prop Cupboard of Obscure Doom as drawn by 2nd Fade.

And as luck would have it there's a reference to 'Asylum of the Daleks', which I think may be the title of tonight's Doctor Who.

I think...

So, new Who tonight! I can't wait, even if it is only for a few weeks. To celebrate Jim seems to have drawn more Daleks. Not that Jim ever needs an excuse to draw more Daleks. They're part of, as yet, unrevealed project.

Anyway, I'm off now as there is much celebrating in my house today and not just because of New Who.

See you all next week.

As usual keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook feeds and we'll see you all again next week.

THE PROP CUPBOARD OF OBSCURE DOOM... BY 2ND FADE

We've been itching to show this strip off for a while now and with Jesse being on holiday it presented the perfect opportunity.

The Prop Cupboard of Obscure Doom is a new spin off strip for In Print. It would seem that when 2nd Fade did us a guest strip a few months back he caught the comic bug again and was interested in doing more guest strips for us. Myself and Jim were such fans of his work that we started discussing bringing Mr Fade (that may not be his real name) on as a regular contributor.

So, we through ideas back and forward and eventually came up with The Prop Cupboard of Obscure Doom. After all the old monsters from Classic Who have to be hiding somewhere and the notion that the monsters that hadn't been in New Who yet would be gathered there and less than happy about some of the creatures that had managed to get an outing.

The Macra for example.

So, expect to see more from the Cupboard as time marches on. Next week sees Jim return with the regular strip and the week after the Infinity Doctors return their tale.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, work continues on the Christmas Special for this year. Which reminds me if any of you can draw in a style which wouldn't be out of place in a DWM comic strip then we'd like to hear from you.

As usual you can follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
