IN PRINT - 114

                                                    Previous Strip  Next Strip

This was written long before the 13th Doctor was chosen, but it really doesn't read like that does it?
There was a slight mix up last week and I referenced a strip that I've written but that Jim hasn't drawn yet. It's hopefully coming soon and it'll confirm that we here at In Print Towers are very much in favour of the new Doctor.

In other news I've just sent Jim a whole new batch of strips to Jim and Nesshead will be getting some soon as well. Sorry for the delay in getting things back to normal.

IN PRINT - 104

                                             Previous Strip   Next Strip

And there we have it. For those of you that hadn't cottoned on yet there are now two versions of ten floating about the Print Verse. He really should have been here years ago. It was my son that pointed it out to me, he has a fairly firm grasp of numbers for his age and has been studying the Doctor's regenerations intently thanks to having 'Legacy' on his tablet. Once I explained to him about the War Doctor and the Metacrisis regeneration he's since insisted on calling the War Doctor Nine instead and Ten has become Eleven and Twelve. And he knew it was true because my 'Infinite Doctor' print has both versions on Ten in it. It was only really a matter of time before he asked how many Tens were in In Print and once he did....

Yeah, so this arc may have been kick started by a conversation at the Glasgow DW Society, but it's been my son's refusal to let go of a concept that's kept it rolling.

In other news I got to read a advanced copy of Battlefield thanks to The Doctor Who Companion. What did I think of it? Well you can read the answer here. Knowing me and alternate Doctors you can probably guess....

IN PRINT - 103

                                       Previous Strip  Next Strip

I'm currently typing this on my phone whilst at one of my kids' climbing clubs. I had planned to type this last night, but I've cracked some of my ribs and it's slowed me down slightly.

In case you're wondering where Jack came from he's been running since the end of the I-files - I Files Part 3

I'll see you all next week.

IN PRINT - THE I FILES Part 3

They're not here for Jack? I don't think anyone expected that, including Jack it would seem. I mean surely he's wanted by several law enforcement agencies? And now that I come to think of it what's he doing in this TARDIS anyway?

Oh that Jack.

So just who are they after? You have a couple more weeks before you find out and I think the answer may surprise you. Please feel free to discuss your theories in the comments section.

We're back next week with the penultimate episode (is that right? I'll need to double check) and after that we a have another Guest Print from Paul Salvi and then it's back to the regular stuff. I'm starting to make headway with the material for this year. The 50th Specials have given me some different ideas to implement and it's all starting to come together nicely.

Right I'm off to cough up a lung in the corner. I'll see you all next week.

IN PRINT - THE I FILES Part 2

                                                               First Previous Next Latest

Hi, my names Jim and I'm a alcoholi- Wait! Nope wrong group, you lot are all Doctor Who fans aren't you! Only joking- I don't even drink. But enough of my personal life, your all here for the 2nd instalment of the I-Files. Alasdair's busy today supporting his wife on a charity run so that's why I'm here filling a few lines for him.
Jesse Lax is the man on art duties today, and what a fantastic job he's done bringing Mulder and Scully into the In Print Universe. He'll be entertaining you for the next few weeks while I'm taking a break from the regular strip.
Don't forget that as always we have Twitter and Facebook pages and we love to see your input there and that you can support us by visiting our store and purchasing one of exclusive tee's.

Until next time, adiós amigos!

IN PRINT - THE I FILES Part 1

It's true you know, I've rarely seen any crossovers that have a lasting impact on either party. Most of the time it seems to get done mostly because it can. This particular cross over wasn't going to be much different initially, but the more of it I wrote the more I realised that this was going to serve as an introduction of a character the In Print Verse. I think you'll all be a little surprised by who it is, I know they caught me by surprise. Kind of. I mean I had been planning on adding them to the cast anyway, but I never planned on adding them in this arc, they just kind of shoved their way in.

In the mean time I'd hope that I didn't have to introduce Agents Mulder and Scully to you. But I know their are slightly younger members of the audience out there, so let's just say they were the leads in 'The X-Files' (it's where the name came from for this arc) and that they were big in the 90s. If you haven't seen The X-Files then I'd strongly recommend you check them out soon. Vince Gilligan, creator of Breaking Bad, cut his teeth on this series. Just... go and watch it if you haven't already.

I've not made the Celestial Intervention Agency up incidently, they appeared on a semi regular basis in the Classic series and evolved into the Celestis in the EDAs. Quite when Mulder and Scully joined is a story for another day.

Do you like the ID cards that Jesse made up for Mulder and Scully? Hope so, because he's also produced a blank one for you guys to have fun with. It'll be up on our Facebook and Twitter pages later on today.

Oh and there's some Torchwood crossover stuff going on as well. Apart from Jack cropping up the Docs are watching the Torchwood crossover segment from The Stolen Earth/Journey's end. Which should keep Project: Torchwood happy as they've been asking us to include more Torchwood for a while now. Speaking of Project: Torchwood; they interviewed myself and Jim not long ago, you can read the result here.

Right, I'm off now. See you all next week.

COMPANIONS

COMPANIONS is the first 'Spin Off' strip we did for the Terrible Zodin, a rather wonderful fanzine that you should all start reading if you don't already do so. This particular strip appeared in Issue 12, available for free download here.

The idea behind 'Spin Off'' is to see how certain shows might have turned out if supporting characters from the show were cast.

This particular issue also features an article by myself about the Target Reprints and is illustrated by a certain 2nd Fade that you might know.

Regular In Print returns next week.
