IN PRINT - 108

                                              Previous Strip   Next Strip

I'm back and it's about...

Actually. No. I use that line far too often.

But I am back. Plot moving forward now and as you can probably tell we're about a year behind, but I don't think we'll be long catching up. See gap years are good for something

And we have a new Doctor coming up. Jack Davenport anyone?

IN PRINT - You Won't See This Coming...

                                        Previous Strip   Next Strip

And I'm back.

I've not been around much of late. Had a little bit of a health scare that's since been resolved, but had taken a good bit of my attention.

But like I said I'm back. I have a whole bunch of main strops written that need typed up and sent to Jim and I'm re-reading the Infinitestate so I can get some scripts off to Jim.

Today's strip was meant to be part of an upcoming arc, but works just as well as an standalone strip. I like the idea of all these 12s wandering around.

IN PRINT - 'SOMETHING' NATURE Part 5

First     Previous  Next  Latest

The first time we saw the Doctor diving through the sky was during Lance Parkin's 'The Dying Days' in a scene so intense and exciting that it could have come straight out of a series finale, which is perhaps why it felt slightly familiar when the 12th Doctor did something similar in the last finale we had. We've also had the Shalka Doctor, as written by Paul Cornell, free falling in what remains the best TARDIS entrance in any medium. It's not hard to to imagine that the current Who team had those two scenes in mind when 12's free fall was put together.

Of course it's also possible that they'd been watching 'The End of Time', but then today's strip kind of falls apart if we go down that road.

In other news I'm still working on fixing the navigation links, unfortunately my plan to do them last Sunday was foiled by my five minute nap lasting significantly longer than planned. Soon though.

Maybe even tonight if I can shake this hayfever.

IN PRINT - Of Spoons and Scotsmen...

                                                                First   Previous  Next Latest

Spoons.
Admit it, we've all tried to forget the Doctor's skills with the spoons haven't we? Well it turns out that he's been practicing.
A lot.
And that wasn't the only throwback, I'm pretty sure Ben Miller was playing the Ainley version of the Master, even if he was credited as 'Sheriff of Nottingham'.
I thought the whole episode was fun (apart from the mirrors and the cast off arrow from Silver Nemesis) and am looking forward to seeing 'Listen'. Although that won't be till tomorrow as I won't have a recorder or internet until next week. So shhhhh on spoilers...
You may be interested to know that this strip is available in our Redbubble store. Jim'll link it in as I'm typing this from my phone and sending it to Jim from here.

IN PRINT - THE NEW GUY...

                                                  First   Previous  Next Latest

The strip's a little late today. Mainly because I was still drawing it last night and finishing off this morning.

Jim here this week as Alasdair's a busy man this weekend. I've literally only had barely over 24 hours to construct this weekends comic due to going away for a family wedding earlier this week. But I've done it and here it is - more worrying reflections on the new series from 6,7 and 8!!

I might as well take the opportunity here to let you all know that a two page In Print strip will be appearing in the next issue of CSO - The Cult TV fanzine which will be available in the next couple of months. In Print will actually be 'in print'! We'll be letting you know the full details of how to grab yourself a copy as soon it's published. Or head on over to their website - CSO Fanzine  or their page on Facebook - CSO- FACEBOOK to find out first-hand.

We'll be back next week. Don't forget you can check all our updates on our Facebook Group page, please join if you haven't done so already.

                                     Until next time...

IN PRINT - The Doctor and his Blue Box-full of Dinosaurs!

It's amazing how things work out sometimes.

The Bucketful of Dinosaurs was always going to get used during Mike's run, except that before last week we'd planned to use the 2nd Doctor as he was the one that Harry most resembled.

And then we saw 'Deep Breath' and we just knew that it should be the 12th Doctor that should appear instead.

Shortly after that I got an Email from Mike pointing out that this would be a great chance to pay homage to the Chris Achilleos cover of 'Invasion of the Dinosaurs'.

Mike was, of course, absolutely right.

Speaking of 'Deep Breath' I'd just like to take the opportunity to say how much I enjoyed it. And not just because it finished on Buchanan Street in Glasgow. There is fact a blue police box on Buchanan Street, I used to pass it everyday on my way to work before I changed jobs. In fact it's pretty much the only thing I miss about the commute to Glasgow.

The rest of the show was fun as well. There were a few lingering elements from the 11th Doctor, but I'm confident that's meant to be part of the evolution of the Doctor as 12 establishes his own identity. Apart from the chemistry that 12 shared with Clara the highlight for me was when 12 defeated the half faced man purely by talking to him, it had a feel of the 7th Doctor about it, Although the 7th would never have pushed anyone out of a balloon himself. Time will tell on that one.

Anyway, I'd best be going. Keep an eye on our store as there may be variations of today's strip appearing there in the near future.
