I'm pretty certain we've used this particular joke before, but it stands up so we're going to use it again. If it upsets you then pretend it's a recurring joke.
Apologies for the prolonged absence. My FND has been making writing a lot harder of late. In fact these scripts, which will cover the end of the 13th's era, were written during the 15th Doctor's era. I've got a bunch of 15th Doctor strips that Ness will be covering, once I get them typed up. I'm hoping to get that done this afternoon.
I've also found it quite hard to write In Print recently. It was easier to poke fun at previous show runners when I was enjoying a high percentage of their output. I had really high hopes when RTD returned and another Scotsman was cast in the role, but it just didn't quite come together for me. As we head into another hiatus I find myself less than invested in what comes next. But then Who has previously thrived on hiatus and being forced into other media. In Print only exists because of the 7th and 8th's run in their respective book ranges.
I desperately want to see Gatwa's Doctor shine as brightly as his few episodes suggested. His introduction in 'The Giggle' was easily my favourite Doctor introduction ever. Rogue was an absolute delight and I feel cheated that we'll never get to see that relationship given room to breath. A range of FDA's would potentially give them a second chance away from the eyes of anyone that it might upset.
But then I'm the guy that loved the Timeless Doctor angle that was introduced int he 13th's era. Less so of the Cyber Lords, but haven't we always cherry picked from our own fandom?
I'm still holding out hope that Piper is playing a Watcher and that we'll get to see her merge with the 14th to give us a refreshed Gatwa. In fact I'm planning to have either Ness or Jim draw it whatever happens.
So while we wait to see what happens with the Doctor next, please join us while we finish off the 13th and 15th era In Print stuff. Hopefully we'll find a direction to head in once those stories are told...
